Hypercar company, Koenigsegg revealed drivetrain and walkthrough video below
Koenigsegg Gemera is a limited production, four-seater, plug-in hybrid grand tourer with producing 2300HP. If you don’t wanna watch full-video, here is highlights
first CEO Christian Von, explained about JESKO (old model) drive train for reference
Light Speed Transmission from Jesko (For those who don’t know, Jesko is a high-performance, street-legal sports car with a twin-turbo V8 engine)
- Small hydraulic clutches to achieve ultra-fast shifts and extremely high engine revolutions (RPM)
- Compact 9 speed gear box
- Rapid downshifting
then, explained what they built in new drivetrain which used in Gemera
(A) Engineering
- 9 speed gear box (with no reverse gear) with 6 clutches instead of 7, and it achieves torque vectoring without additional motors or complex mechanisms
- Gearbox paired with an electric motor for hybrid drive capabilities, allowing for torque vectoring both on the front and rear axles
(B) Torque Vectoring and Hybrid Drive
- To improve cornering and handling by torque vector through the brakes and clutches
- Additional 1,250 Nm of torque and up to 600 kW of power for electric motor
- Both pure electric mode and hybrid mode possible
