Oscar Piastri, born (2001) in Melbourne, Australia, is a prominent Formula 1 driver currently racing for McLaren.
Start off with karting, where he demonstrated his talent and determination. He made his debut in single-seater racing in 2016, competing in the British Formula 4 Championship, where he finished sixth overall. In 2017, he continued to improve his skills and finished as vice-champion in the British Formula 4 series.
2019, Piastri achieved his first major success by winning the Formula Renault Eurocup, securing seven victories and establishing himself as a rising star in motorsport.
He continued with back-to-back championships in the FIA Formula 3 and FIA Formula 2 series. He won the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2020, clinching the title in a dramatic season finale. In 2021, he further solidified his reputation by winning the FIA Formula 2 Championship, becoming the first driver to win both championships in their rookie seasons.
Entry to Formula 1
2022, he served as a reserve driver for Alpine F1 Team while navigating a complex contract situation that ultimately led him to join McLaren for the 2023 season. His debut came at the Bahrain Grand Prix, where he quickly made an impact by achieving a podium finish at the Japanese Grand Prix during his rookie year.
